10ZiG announced their first WE8 Thin Client, the 5818v. This device is using a new D2550 dual core Intel Atom Processor and therefor has a extremely low power consumption. In an earlier post Simon Long mentioned that vSphere 5.1 is not compatible with any versions of VMware View.  Well I am please to you inform you all that today VMware have released an express patch for ESXi (ESXi510-201210001) which fixes an issue that caused the incompatibility issue. Today I was asked to give NexentaVSA for View a good test-drive in my lab. I use Nexenta CE for my home lab and since I start using it I am a big fan! More because of ZFS and the speed it gives me with minimal number of SATA and some SSD’s. Deleting VMware View Desktop pool deletes everything in the Composer Folder!

This is a WARNING when are working with VMware Composer. When you have other VM’s/Golden Images located in the folder Composer creates when you create a Desktop pool (The folder with the name of the Pool). Move them into their own folder! Last night I could not believe my eyes. I saw my precious golden image and 2 other copy’s of the VM being deleted by Composer because I moved it into the Composer Desktop Folder.
